It was a peaceful late afternoon at Leo’s house in Florida. The sun was still warm but softer now, hanging low in the sky and casting long shadows across the backyard. A gentle breeze moved through the trees, and the air felt fresh after the day’s heat. In the corner of the yard stood Leo’s favorite tree—the guava tree, full of green, ripening fruits.
Allen shaded his eyes and looked up. “The weather feels perfect right now,” he said. “Florida afternoons are warm, but the breeze makes it nice.”
Leo smiled. “That’s why guava trees grow so well here. Florida has lots of sunshine, enough rain, and mild weather. These trees love this climate.”
They walked closer, touching the smooth leaves and spotting ripe guavas hanging from the branches.
“Guava is such a powerful fruit,” Allen said thoughtfully. “My teacher said it has a lot of vitamin C.”
“That’s true,” Leo replied. “Just one guava gives us more vitamin C than an orange. It helps protect us from colds and keeps our bodies strong.”
Allen added, “Guava also has fiber, which is good for digestion, and vitamin A, which helps our eyes and skin.”
“And it has potassium too,” Leo said. “That helps our muscles and heart work properly. Plus, guava is low in sugar and calories, so it’s a healthy snack.”
They talked about how fruits like guava play an important role in daily life—helping children grow, boosting immunity, and protecting the body naturally when eaten every day.
Leo looked up at the higher branches. “The ripest guavas are at the top.”
Allen laughed. “Then we’d better climb!”
Leo carefully climbed the sturdy tree while Allen held the basket below. Leaves rustled as Leo reached out and gently plucked a ripe guava, dropping it into the basket. Soon Allen climbed up too, and together they filled the basket with fresh fruit, enjoying the quiet sounds of the late afternoon.
They sat under the tree, washed the guavas, and took big bites. The fruit was sweet and juicy.
“Fresh fruit from the tree is the best,” Allen said.
Leo nodded as the sun dipped lower in the sky. “Nature gives us health and happiness—especially when we choose nutritious foods.”
As the late afternoon slowly faded toward evening, the boys felt grateful for the guava tree, the Florida climate, and the simple joy of sharing healthy food together.
